The Application for admission to all graduate programs uses a common form. Applications will be sent upon request. All applicants must request the registrar of institutions previously attended to forward two official transcripts to the Graduate School of Texas Southern University. These transcripts must be received from each institution in which the applicant has previously enrolled before action will be taken on the application.
The applicant's official credentials, including completed application form and transcripts of previous work must be on file in the office of the Graduate School at least four weeks before the date of registration. Please note that while all doctoral level programs require a GRE some Masters level programs do not require the GRE. Graduate Admission Requirements for English Proficiency
Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score if your native language is not English, unless you received an undergraduate degree from a U.S. college or university. A TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper based test or 213 on the computer based test or 79 on the Internet based test is required. For the IELTS Test a composite score of 6.0 is required.
Texas Southern University Graduate Admissions Office only accepts scores submitted electronically by the IELTS test center. No paper Test Report Forms will be accepted. An institutional code is NOT required.
Please contact the test center directly where you took the IELTS test and request that your test scores be sent electronically using the IELTS system. All IELTS test centers worldwide are able to send scores electronically to our institution.
